Energy Metering in the STRATIS Mobile App
STRATIS has recently expanded into energy and water metering as a part of our total app experience. Now, Residents whose properties participate in Smart Energy and Smart Water programs will have access to valuable consumption data in their STRATIS Mobile App.
Smart Energy in the STRATIS Mobile App
If your property does participate in Smart Energy, when you first log in to the STRATIS Mobile App you’ll see an Energy Meter widget on your home dashboard. Selecting that will take you to a new screen with all of your water information broken down over three tabs: Overview, Trends, and My Goals.
Overview Tab
At the top of your screen you’ll see your Projected Usage and Projected Difference. Projected Usage is an estimate of what the app thinks you’ll use this month, based off of data on prior months' usage. After your past billing data has been populated or entered, this will change to Projected Cost. Projected Difference shows how much more or less energy that amount is compared to last month’s usage. After your billing data is populated into the app, this will change to Projected Savings. Keep in mind, these are estimates based off of your previous energy bill. Actual results may vary depending on seasonality, additional amenities fees or HOA dues, etc.
Your Current Usage is how much energy you’ve used so far in the month.
Track your Green Score and see how you’re doing on consumption comparative to other Residential units in your building. Note that the green score will tell a Resident how they compare to other Resident units, but won’t actually share any other Residents' consumption data.
70-100: Needs Work
50-70: Fair
30-50: Fair
30-10: Good
10+: GreatThe wheel in the center of your screen shows your average use per day of the week. Currently there’s no option to change the time display to any other unit of measure. Use this information to see what days of the week are your highest days of use, and potentially adjust your usage based on these insights. Does your Saturday gaming ritual actually use less energy than your daily working from home? Does turning off lights when you leave the room really add up?
Selecting Sustainability Guide takes you to STRATIS' website sustainability blog in a new browser window on your phone. Here you’ll find regularly published blog posts on ways we can all be a little more green.
Options contains three settings menus for data display:
Show on Dashboard can be toggled on or off to show the energy widget on your STRATIS Mobile App dashboard, or to remove it. Alternatively, you can select the pencil icon on your dashboard to choose which items appear on your dashboard automatically.
Utility Rate is where you can add your recent billing information to allow the app to make the calculation for your Projected Cost. You might want to do this if your billing data didn’t auto populate from your property, or if your billing rate has just recently changed. If you do manually enter the data, you’ll need to also select the Cost Information Disclaimer before you Save for the app to make its calculations. Once complete you’ll be able to see your cost/kWh or cost/Wh.
Unit of Measure can be changed to either kilowatt hours (kWh) or watt hours (Wh).
Trends Tab
The time span for the displayed trends can be changed to Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, or by Billing Period. Select the arrow at the top right of your screen to open the drop down menu and select one of these options.
Adjust the grey average trend line by clicking on the gear icon, where you can adjust how long of a period that average is calculated over (moving average).
Your total Energy Consumption is the amount of energy you’ve used during your chosen display range of time. The Estimated Cost shows you how much that cost you, based on the billing information populated or entered in the Options section of the Overview tab. Until the app has this billing information, you’ll see Please Enter Rate, N/A displayed here.
My Goals Tab
Choose how much energy you’d like to try to use per week by selecting Edit Goal and entering that number before you Save.
Your goal will display on the My Goals tab main screen. The progress bar and text beneath will help keep you up to date about how far off or close to your goal you are for that month.
See your past goals and past goal progress under Goal History.
Choose to toggle push notifications about goal status changes on or off.
