Site scenes are scenes intended for proper@ty managers to execute master actions like turning lights on/off on entire floors or controlling all thermostats in vacant units, via the Management App. Site scenes can also respond to external or non-routine triggers. For example, if a leak detector goes off in a unit, then the scene would trigger to shut off a water valve.

To set up a site scene:

  1. Access your property’s site scenes options by selecting Devices, Property Controls, then the Scenes tab.

  2. Let’s look at the example of the scenario for a scene to turn off the lights in all vacant units at 11PM, from Monday to Friday.

    1. In Scene Templates, select + Create Template to name the action you want to set for your devices. Then, +Add Device Type, choose the Device Type as Light Switch from the drop down list, set the switch to Off, and Create your scene template. When naming it, think about this step as the action you want taken, such as lights going off.

    2. In Scene List, select + Create Scene. Then name your scene with something descriptive. Set the Type to Property Vacant or the particular unit group you’d like the action to apply to. Choose your Action created in step A from the Actions drop down list.
At the bottom of your screen, you can set the schedule for the action by clicking in the time field and adjusting the desired time, then selecting each of the days of the week that you’d like the action to trigger. Once selected, each day will turn from grey to black text. Save. If you’d like, this can also be adjusted in the next step.

    3. In Scene Schedule List, select + Add Schedules. If you haven’t done so already, schedule when you want the scene to automatically take place.

      1. Select your existing scene or create a new scene.

      2. Once you’ve set a scene schedule, selecting this Scene Schedule List submenu will display the Next Scene Schedule banner.

    4. In If/Then, you have additional options to set up triggers based on if/then statements. While templates and scenes are exclusively performing actions on your devices to your desired date and time, If/Then statements trigger when a set of requirements are met, not when a date and time occur. For example, if a leak sensor detected moisture, then you might create a setting to automatically shut off the actuator leading to that leak. When that leak happens would be unplanned and independent of any set date or time. Note that If/Then statements are set up without creating a scene.

      1. Select + Add Scenario.

      2. Name your scenario. In this case we’re going to call it Leak Workflow.

      3. From the + Add Statement drop down menu, select your statement type. For this we’ll select any device matches type. Search and choose Water Sensor.

      4. Add Statement for a second time and choose Compare matching device attribute change. In this new section change the Select Operator to AND. Select the Attribute as moisture state = wet.

      5. Select +Add Action at the right of your screen.

      6. For Set Matching Devices, we’re going to choose Water Valve, as this is where we’d be checking for leaks.

      7. Select Set Switch, and Off.

      8. Create Scenario.

      9. You’ll now see your statement show up on the screen under the If/Then menu.
