Bulk Upload Smart Keys - Schlage SPED

Bulk uploading of smart keys in STRATIS is a quick and easy way for properties to add a new batch of smart keys to their common area door files in one batch. This eliminates the need to program those locks every time you add one of those keys included in the upload. Please note that not all properties are able to use this feature. If you don’t see the Bulk Key option under the devices menu, your property is running an older database and will not be able to use this feature.

Steps to Bulk Upload Smart Keys

1. To use the bulk upload feature, you’ll need the following information from the smart key packaging:

   1. Bit Format, Desc (This should always be 26A)

   2. Facility Code

   3. Start Hotstamp Number (Badge Number)

   4. Stop Hotstamp Number (Badge Number)

2. Navigate to Devices and select Bulk Keys.

   Open

   

3. Select New Range.

   Open

   

4. Keep the format as 26A.

5. Input the facility code.

6. Input the start hotstamp number, which would be the lowest badge number in the batch.

7. Input the stop hotstamp number, which would be the highest badge number in the batch.

8. Select Next.

9. Select the individual units you would like this set of smart keys to have access to by using the blue triangle to expand the selection, and the blue plus button to choose the unit.

10. Select Next.

11. Select the schedule you would like to apply to this set of smart keys. The default is 24/7.

12. Select Next.

13. Verify that all the information is correct and select Confirm.

14. Now that the smart key set has been bulk uploaded, you’ll need to program the affected locks with updated door files in order for the smart keys to work. Make sure to clear any previously downloaded door files and download fresh ones prior to programming the locks.

15. When Residents move in you can write the smart keys as normal and they will work on their Resident door as well as the common area units that were added during the bulk upload.
