Understanding the MT20W Key Log Report - Schlage
This page and all others on the help site will be retired in Q4 2024. Please refer to the new help site by clicking the Help icon in the top-right corner of the STRATIS Management application.
The MT20W key log is a useful report where you can view the history of all smart keys created, returned, or read by your MT20W key writer. The report is fully searchable and shows the errors or confirmed messages for specific keys.
How to Access the Report
Select Reports.
Select Key Log.
If you have multiple MT20Ws on your property, select the correct one for the report which you wish to generate.
The report will show on your screen.
Understanding the Report
Confirmed
The Confirmed message means that the no tour key write was successfully programmed to the smart key.
Ok
The OK message is displayed before the confirmed message is returned from our server. This message also means that the no tour key write may have been successful but due to network issues our servers could not confirm one way or another. Test the smart key and return and rewrite as necessary.
Failed
The Failed message can occur for a few reasons. When you write the smart key, the message box will tell you the reason why the key write failed. To view the error in the key log, hover your mouse over the Failed message.
Credential Blocked on Lock
This error code will only show for Schlage Control properties. The smart key has been blocked on one or more of the locks you are attempting to write the smart key to. This doesn’t mean that the MT20W is not working correctly. You’ll need to use a different smart key.
Credential Write Unsuccessful
This error code causes the smart key to write with a tour program, meaning you’ll need to program the locks the smart key is supposed to have access to before the smart key will work. To fix this error, update the MT20W's firmware by contacting Schlage Allegion’s technical support.
Credential is Currently Owned by Another User
This error message indicates that the smart key you are attempting to use is currently already programmed to another user in STRATIS. If you want to return the smart key and use it again you can return the smart key using Return Lost Key located in the Devices menu. Only Resident smart keys and maintenance/temporary smart keys are reusable. Staff keys are blocked upon return.
Returned Staff Key
This error message means you’re attempting to reprogram a used Staff key. Once a Staff key is programmed and returned you can’t program new access to it. This is a security feature built into STRATIS to prevent Residents from having access to Staff actions. Use a new smart key to write the smart key you were attempting at the time of this error.
